Continuing obligations under the Services Directive
The Services Directive came into force on the 28th December 2009. Government Departments, Devolved Administrations, local authorities and other competent authorities have continuing obligations under the Directive, which are:
- to ensure that all new requirements (in force after December 28th 2009) imposed on service providers in the UK are compliant with the regulations detailed on the legislation.gov.uk website,
- to notify the European Commission (via BIS) of any new requirements for service providers,
- where necessary, to add online forms for any formalities that are authorised to the Point of Single Contact (PSC); and
- to register with the Internal Market Information (IMI) System.
